Sometimes a Geography teacher might need a good old-fashioned paper outline map. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt offers these for free on their Education Place website. At the Education Place teachers can find labeled and unlabeled physical and political maps. All of the maps open as PDF files for convenient printing and photocopying.

Essay Map is a handy tool from the folks at Read Write Think. Essay Map provides students with step by step guidance in the construction of an informational essay. Essay Map is particularly good for helping students visualize the steps needed to construct good introductory and conclusion paragraphs. After students complete all of the steps in their Essay Map, they can print their essay outline. There are many excellent flashcard services on the Internet today. Some of the better services offer collaboration tools for students to create and share flashcards. Other good services offer systems to help students focus on the flashcards that are the most difficult for them to learn. None of the flashcard services offer what Funnel Brain offers, space to include answer explanations.

ProCon is a great resource for anyone that teaches current events, political science, or public policy. ProCon takes controversial current topics, posts a "core question" about the topic, provides an overview of the topic, and provides background information on the controversial topic. Then ProCon presents short articles and news quotes from both sides of the "core question."
